Aftercare – how to take care of your skin after Dermapen
To maximize the results after a Dermapen treatment, it is important to take proper care of your skin. In the first few days, your skin is extra receptive to care products but also more sensitive to external stress. It is completely normal for your skin to feel sore, tight or even a little sore, especially if the treatment has been more intensive to work with scars or mature skin. This is a natural part of the healing process and usually subsides within a couple of days.
Proper aftercare helps the skin recover faster and reduces the risk of irritation, while making the results both better and longer-lasting.
Avoid saunas, swimming & exercise for the first day.
Heat, sweat and moisture can irritate the skin and weaken the effect of the treatment. Let the skin rest and recover for the first day.
Moisturize your skin daily
After Dermapen, the skin is extra receptive to moisture. Use a gentle serum or cream to support healing and nourish the skin.
Use sunscreen every day
The skin is extra sensitive to the sun immediately after treatment and therefore needs strong protection. Always use SPF 50 during the day to reduce the risk of pigment spots and maintain the results longer. Remember that sunscreen loses its effect after about two hours – so it is important to reapply during the day, especially if you are outdoors.
No strong products
Avoid acids, retinol, peels or products with perfume in the first few days. The skin needs calm and gentle care during recovery.
Change to clean pillowcases & towels
After treatment, the skin is more open to bacteria. Fresh textiles reduce the risk of irritation and impurities.
For best results, a course of 4–6 treatments is recommended. When Dermapen is combined with the right meso-vials, such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins or peptides, the skin gets an extra nutritional boost and even longer-lasting results. Remember to always protect your skin with sunscreen to preserve the effect longer.
